Encrypt beacon memory during sleep to defeat scanners

Memory scanners catch implants by fingerprinting RX regions that sit idle between callbacks. Sleep-obfuscation techniques queue timers or ROP gadgets that flip the beacon’s pages to RW, XOR-encrypt them, sleep, then decrypt and restore RX just before the next task runs.

c
// schedule the mask/unmask around WaitForSingleObject via timer-queue or APC ROP chain
// pages are ciphertext for the whole sleep window, defeating a signature sweep

Validate that no RX region matching your loader remains during the sleep window.

bash
# scan your own process with a YARA memory rule while it sleeps; expect no hit

Pro note: also mask the stack and heap that reference your strings, not just the code, since scanners pivot from data to code. The gadget approach that spoofs the return address (Ekko or Foliage style) is stealthier than a plain thread because the call stack looks like a normal wait.
